Menstrual Concerns

Dysfunctional bleeding, either too much or too little, can have many different reasons and causes. Since there are multiple reasons for dysfunction of the menstrual cycle, the most important aspect of care is a comprehensive panel to help to assess the individual cause. This is done through both salivary and blood analysis. The salivary analysis provides a clear picture of the hormone balance in the body. While the blood testing, provides feedback on multiple organ systems. Any endocrine, hormonal, imbalance can occur due to concerns anywhere in the endocrine system. Therefore, it is important to also test the thyroid, cortisol, and DHEA levels. Vitamin D deficiency can also be a primary reason for amenorrhea. Research has shown improvements in abnormal bleeding in 2 months with Vitamin D supplementation when the levels have been low. Another cause can be liver concerns.
