Concussion Prevention & Treatment

What is a concussion?

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) are all terms for head injuries that occur either acutely or chronicly.  We now know that there are ongoing issues whenever there is a force that has been applied to the head region.  This injury can either occur in one large traumatic event or over multiple ongoing blows.  There is a drastic increase in these kind of injuries in contact sports, such as football, and for individuals in the military due to combat.

Treating a concussion

It is important to prevent and treat these conditions as soon as possible to decrease any potential brain injuries that occur due to the physical trauma.  At Synapse, the doctors are highly trained in treating and preventing these type of injuries.  From the structural care to the neurological rehab we utilize at the clinic, we can help to treat and prevent head injuries and the adverse reactions that occur due to them.
